Ron Houniet showed why he's the best in the business, qualifying #1 and winning the event on a track he had never been at before!

Ontario's Rob Brown continues to make improvements on the lone Nitro Harley in Ontario, though troubles kept the team from making a strong pass all weekend.

Rob Smith qualified second behind Ron Houniet with a 6.81 on an early shutoff pass. Many racers commented on the slippery back half of the quarter mile, a result of high track temperatures.

Mike Scott had troubles off the line most of the weekend, unable to put the Hardcore Racing power to the Grand Bend launchpad. His 206 MPH on Saturday was high MPH during qualifying.

Lyle Newton came from Nanaimo, BC to be a part of the show in Grand Bend.

Damian Cownden reached his first Top Fuel final of his short career, doing so in spectacular fashion. During his semifinal victory he sped to a 6.66/212 (tied for Low E.T. of the Meet) and then proceeded to go off the top end of the shutdown area into the sandtrap. Luckily Cownden and the bike were fine.

Jason Arkinstall hadn't been on his bike since Grand Bend last year, but struck fear into the competition with some serious runs. Despite pitching the blower belt twice over the weekend, his incremental times were impressive. His 6.66 at just 183 MPH during the Fuel Shootout was shaping up to be a potential sub 6.5-second run!
