Fort St. John a HUGE Success!

The CMDRA's first race at Northern Lights Raceway in Fort St John, BC was a great success despite the unruly weather! The rains came Friday night and
lasted till Saturday evening. Most teams spent Saturday touring around Fort St. John or visiting and playing cards in the tent city that covered the pits.

Saturday evening the sun came out and everyone went to bed hoping to see it again Sunday morning. Sunday came with a thick blanket of fog that
delayed the 1st round of qualifying to 1:00pm. The rest of the day was sunny and warm except for a brief shower that interrupted the 2nd round of qualifying. It was decided to go directly to eliminations after the track dried and the all volunteer group from at the Northern Lights Raceway worked their tails off Sunday to get the show completed. The program wrapped up
late, but many stayed for the trophy ceremony just after 9:00 pm.

The town of Fort St. John rolled out the red carpet for the CMDRA and the support from the local community was unbelievable, including several
generous donations from the business community of north-eastern B.C. that enabled the CMDRA to DOUBLE the payouts for the winner in each class.
