Suzuki Canadian Fastest Streetbike Shootout is in the books!
Bud Yoder (Flint, MI) became the first 2-time champion of
this event when he beat Calgary's Dave Burleigh in the finals,
running Low E.T. and Top Speed of the weekend at 7.59/189.47.

will be awarded to the Canadian racer who posts the quickest elapsed
time (E.T.) in qualifying. Three qualifying rounds are scheduled.

CMDRA
Top Fuel Champion Mike Scott is at the top of the list of
racers planning to compete in the CMDRA/Rocky's Harleys By
The Beach Top Fuel competition at Grand Bend Motorplex on
June 20-21.
3
rounds of qualifying will be held on Saturday with eliminations
to follow on Sunday. More racers are being added to the list
as the event draws near, so this year's event looks to be
another blockbuster for Rocky's H-D, the CMDRA and Grand Bend
Motorplex!

AMA
DRAGBIKE veteran sportsman racer Mike Konopacki (Hampton,
ON) has had a strong start to the 2009 season after strong
showings over the first two races of the season.
Konopacki currently sits atop the points in Pro E.T. after
a win at the season opener in Valdosta, GA and a runner-up
showing at the ensuing Atlanta race. He's also sitting second
in Super Comp points thanks to a runner-up showing in Valdosta.
To cap it off, Konopacki is fourth in Top Gas after a runner-up
in Atlanta.
The
next AMA DRAGBIKE race is this coming weekend (May 2-3) at
Memphis Motorsports Park in Memphis, TN. Best of luck! |

The 2009 CMDRA points series officially begins at the CMDRA
All Bike Drags Western Season Opener at Eagle Motorplex in
Ashcroft - May 23-24, 2009.
As
per a recent press release by the organization, "The
CMDRA is looking forward to another action packed season of
racing featuring the fastest, most exciting ALL MAKE motorcycle
drag racing action in Canada including the Screamin' Eagle
Top Fuel Series, Screamin' Eagle Pro Fuel Series, Screamin'
Eagle Pro Dragster Series, Pro Modified Series, Pro Stock
Series, Modified Series, Triple J Pipelines Super Gas Series,
Screamin' Eagle Stock XL (883) Series, Pro Street Series,

Turbos Becomes CMDRA Pro Street Sponsor! -

The
Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association recently announced
that turbo specialist RCC Turbos has come on board as Official
Sponsor of the Pro Street series for 2009.
“It
was a natural fit that RCC Turbos came on board for 2009,”

said CMDRA Director and class competitor Ethan Barkley. “Several
of the leading competitors in the class utilize RCC Turbo
kits. They make some of the best kits on the market today,
and the technical support is outstanding."
Because
of RCC Turbos’ support, the CMDRA will offer an entire
East Pro Street series in addition to the popular West series.
The new East series will have it's own championship points
system, payouts and record tracking.

parts based in Fordwich, ON. Owner Richard Peppler will be
campaigning his own brand new turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa

quickest and fastest drag bikes on the west coast have announced
a six race schedule for 2009, four at major NHRA races, and
one at the Edmonton IHRA National Event.
"Its
a great opportunity for us to run and expose our horsepower
and performance of our TOP FUEL NITRO BIKES at the NHRA Lucas
Oil events and IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton"
said spokesperson and racer Ron Houniet.
